Overview

Chertsey is on the banks of the Thames, just a 50-minute train ride from London.

Book yourself onto a riverside pitch where you can watch the many pleasure craft sail by. Walkers will enjoy the Thames Path Nature Trail, a towpath leading to Staines.

This lovely riverside campsite is an oasis in the suburbs. It has a really rural feel yet is just a short train ride to London from the Weybridge station. It’s also perfectly placed for visiting some of the country’s best-loved theme parks (Lego Land, Thorpe Park and Chessington), as well as the world-famous Kew, Wisely and Savill gardens. Hampton Court and Chelsea flower shows are also within easy reach from here.

The sheltered site provides great facilities for campers, including a games room with TV and table tennis table. Please note that, due to risk of flooding, you are unable to leave your unit unattended or without a tow car overnight.

Worth Noting

This site is outside of the Congestion Zone and Low Emission Zone. Fishing is available from June to March, from 7am until dusk – please check with the site for exact dates. Tow cars must remain on site overnight and units must not be left unattended over-night due to the possibility of flooding.

Please be aware that there will be work being carried out across site between the 9th – 27th January. Some of these works will involve heavy plant & machinery and may cause disturbance.

Eat Local

The farm shop in Lyne (approx. 10 min drive) sells a range of home-grown fruit and vegetables as well as goose eggs, fresh bread, chutney, jams and more.

The beautiful village of Sheepstor south-east of Tavistock campsite is where Stephen Spielberg’s Warhorse was filmed, while north of the campsite, Lydford boasts a castle and the stunning Lydford Gorge which stretches for one and a half miles from the Devil’s Cauldron whirlpool to the 100ft Whitelady Waterfall.

Access and SatNav Advice

Do not use SatNav due to very narrow local lanes, refer to printable location map.

Worth Noting

Two great dog walks on site. Large designated play area for ball games. Four holiday cottages available, adjacent to the site, contact 01822 613360. Super service pitches have water and drainage (no TV point). Grass only pitches are not suitable for motorhomes or campervans as they are sloping. Chocks may be required for other unit types.

Due to the proximity of this site to Dartmouth, light restrictions are in place. If you are staying between November and March we recommend arriving before dusk.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available.
